? Did the coach take time for coaching, both for the sessions and for the follow-up actions? To help both the coach and the coach in this journey, a common understanding of expectations is needed. I recommend the implementation of a “coaching agreement” between coach and coach from the beginning of your partnership. Especially for those who are new to a coaching relationship, it can be used as a vehicle for discussion to set expectations and how you will work together, especially in deeply intense situations. 4) Confidentiality: This coaching relationship as well as any information (documented or oral) that the client shares with the coach as part of this relationship are linked to the principles of confidentiality defined by the ICF Code of Ethics. Under no circumstances is the coach liable to the client for indirect, consequential or special damages. Notwithstanding any damages that may be caused to the Client, all of the Coach`s liability under this Agreement and the Client`s exclusive remedy shall be limited to the amount actually paid by the Client to the Coach under this Agreement for all coaching services provided by and including the date of termination. Of course, this is not an exhaustive list. However, use this as a starting point to establish your own agreement and adapt it to the needs of any coach coach partnership. I found that when I took an exercise to make a deal with my coaches, we were able to navigate some of the difficult situations like the story above much more easily than if we didn`t. D.
